Mashable has an interesting story about how ad units are getting bigger.
The movement towards huge got a big boost when the Internet Advertising Bureau recently added some big new formats to its standard ad unit sizes: 300×100 and 720×300. The latter has been seen on many popular websites over the past few weeks, including ESPN, MySpaceMySpace reviewsMySpace reviews, and YouTube.
Here’s what those jumbo ad units look like: 
I think this is especially exciting for 3 reasons. First, it means that branded advertising is growing strong no the net. Second, it opens up a lot of possiblities for interactive experience. Finally, these are units that a visual search engine like Searchme could run all day long, but Google could never run on their site.
